Cleveland - If you were ever going to splurge on groceries, now may be the time.  Lobster prices are at a 20 year low, thanks to conservation efforts that have led to a surge in north Atlantic lobster numbers.  Fresh lobsters are selling for an average of $11 to $13 a pound at seafood markets around northeast Ohio.  While that is still pricy, it’s well below the record high prices of just a few years ago.  With that in mind, we have some recipe ideas that may help you  take advantage of the lower prices for these tasty crustaceans.

There’s not much better than a steamed lobster.  It’s exquisite in its simplicity.  Add a drizzle of butter and a squeeze of lemon to create a little bit of heaven in your mouth.
Steamed Live Lobster with Drawn Butter & Lemon
2 one to three pound live lobsters
1 ½ cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup butter, melted
1 lemon cut into wedges
Place a rack in the bottom of a large soup or stock pot.
Pour water into bottom of pot, add salt and bring to a boil.  Place lobsters on rack.  Cover pot with lid and allow lobsters to steam through  for 7 to 14 minutes  depending on size of lobsters.  Larger lobsters will take longer.  Remove lobsters from pot and serve with drawn butter and lemon wedges.
