Five-kilo lobster ‘pardoned’ for new life at aquarium
By Oliver McIntyre
A
HUGE lobster weighing over five kilos has been ‘pardoned’ from the cook
pot to instead live out its days at Benalmádena’s Sea-Life aquarium.
In
a nod to the Semana Santa tradition of religious confraternities, or
‘cofradías’, pardoning an inmate for early release from prison, ‘Pinzas’
(‘Claws’) the lobster last week received his pardon from “the recently
created ‘cofradía del bogavante’, formed by lobsters, crabs and sea-horses,” said Sea-Life in a tongue-in-claw written statement.
